The Madina constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Eric Nartey Yeboah, has indicated that his sources closed to Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman, the newly-nominated running mate to Mr John Mahama in this years elections, is unhappy with the new post but had to accept it in order to brighten the face of the NDC’s campaign team a bit.
Mr Nartey Yeboah said on the Ghana Yensom show on Accra 100.5FM Tuesday July 14 that Mr Mahama had a daunting task convincing the former Education Minister to be is running mate.
According to him, given the difficult task that lies ahead of the NDC in the upcoming elections in view of the margin of defeat it witnessed in the last elections, Prof Opoku-Agyemang realized it was going to be a difficult elections for the NDC but she had to accept the nomination reluctantly.
“Professor Opoku-Agyeman is not even happy that she has been appointed the running mate to John Mahama,” he said.
He added that: The task ahead of the NDC is huge that she got scared to be the running mate but after several efforts to convince her she accepted.”
