EOCO arrests PAYBOY directors; warns public against unlicensed financial entities


The Economics and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) on Wednesday May 27th 2020 arrested some officials of PAY Boy Company Limited, an entity that purports to be into the marketing and promotion of financial technologies.

According to EOCO, its initial investigations have revealed that the company was operating without the requisite license from either the Bank of Ghana or the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

“The general public is advised to be circumspect when dealing with companies or individuals if it involves financial commitments,” a statement dated 29th May 2020 and signed by Jacqueline Avotri, Director of Public Affairs at EOCO, said.

It added that “Investigations are ongoing.”
