COVID-19: We’ve closed down our Tudu, Makola branches – Stanbic


Stanbic has announced the closure of its branches located near some of the markets that will be undergoing a fumigation exercise Monday March 23 following the outbreak of the coronavirus infection in Ghana.

A message from the management said : “Please note that our Tudu, Makola, Madina, Graphic Road, Ashaiman and Tema Community 1 branches will be CLOSED on Monday, March 23. They are in the zones to be fumigated. Visit nearby Stanbic branches for your in-branch services. Our digital channels also remain handy. #StaySafe.”

Similarly, Access and Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) have also announced the closure of their branches located in the same areas as well for the dame reason.

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) announced plans for the fumigation exercise as part of measures to deal with the outbreak.

Ghana has recorded twenty one cases.

UMB in a statement to customers said : “ Dear Valued Customer, Due to the scheduled disinfection of selected markets by the A.M.A our Accra Main and SIA branches will be closed on 23/3/2020.

“Kindly visit any of our other branches or use any of our 24-hour e-channels for your banking transactions. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you.”

Access on the other hand said also that : “Dear Valued Customer, due to planned disinfection of markets in Greater Accra,

“the following Access Bank branches will be closed on Monday March 23, 2020; Kantamanto, Okaishie, South Industrial Area, Kaneshie Post office and Tema Comm. 1.

“Normal operations will resume on Tuesday March 24, 2020. All other branches, ATMs and alternative channels will be available. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you #AccessGhanacares.”
